Posted September 26, 2018 09:04:28We’ve already discussed how many sites use Bing for search and other features.
Now, a new study from B2B analytics firm Quantcast shows that Bing is not only the most popular search engine in the United States, it’s also the most profitable for sites.
Quantcast reports that Bing revenue per search is nearly twice as high as Google, even though Bing searches are often much more expensive.
This suggests that the way in which Google operates and the way it monetizes its content could have an impact on how much revenue sites make from the search engine.
In particular, the study shows that many Bing searches have been made on sites like Facebook and Instagram, which may make those search results much more lucrative than Google’s.
Quantcasts research also shows that most of the sites that use Bing are in the same geographic region as Bing, making it more likely that these sites will earn money from Bing’s search engine as well.
As we’ve noted before, Bing has become a more prominent search engine because of its dominance in the mobile market, and the recent addition of a Bing-powered version of Bing to the Google search engine may help to keep the site in the spotlight.
